Ingrid Haynes-Mays, Ph.D. is the President elect of the National Literacy Professional Development Consortium. Dr. Haynes-Mays received her Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in TESOL from the University of Mississippi, her Master’s of Education in Reading from Texas Southern University and her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Texas Southern University. Dr. Haynes-Mays' research interests include areas related to literacy and language development. She has presented and published numerous articles on the above topics. Dr. Ingrid Haynes-Mays is describe as the most creative and innovative theorist of her generation and is a leader in the field of education. In 2002, she opened the first Charter School in the state of Tennessee. She set the path for educational reform and had great success (i.e., Circles of Success Learning Academy). Dr. Haynes-Mays has also authored and co-authored several books. Her most recent book, *50 Plus Instructional Strategies for Grades 6 - 12*, has attracted worldwide acclaim.
